BSc in Architecture, University of Liechtenstein (2012)
Katia Rudnicki was born and raised in St.Gallen, Switzerland in 1987. She completed her Bachelor in Architecture at the University of Liechtenstein in 2012 and her Master in Design at the FHNW in Basel in 2014. Since 2014 she lives and works as an artist in Berlin, running her studio "Kalena".
Katia works with the materials concrete and Tyvek and integrates photography as a reflective medium in her work. She creates installations that raise questions about human beings and their boundaries at the intersection of architecture, art and design. She explores dimension and proportion with the human body as point of reference. Katia exposes the working process in her creations, allowing it to become part of her installations. Traces, things left behind, cracks and drops are allowed to stay in place.
